- Abstract
The objectives of the research are to know the development of the principles of populist economics in a social policy to support the improvement of the welfare of cashew farmers and realize food security. Determination of research subjects with stratified random sampling. Data analysis techniques were carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results of the study shows macroeconomic policy as a mandate from the body of the Constitution of Indonesia Republic in Article 1 paragraph 3, and article 33 paragraph 4. The national economy is organized based on economic democracy with the principles of togetherness, equitable efficiency, sustainability, environmentally sound, independently and by maintaining the balance of progress and unity of the national economic. Namely of the Minister of Finance Regulation substance Number 213 of 2011 is das sollen, and has vertically synchronization with the Law No. 19 of 2013 concern in farmer protection and empowerment. The development of economic democracy principles contains horizontal harmonization with the objectives of food security, especially Article 56 letter e of Law Number 18 of 2012 concerning Food
